The Art of Celebrating the Festive Season at Reschio
In Umbria, the festive season holds a special place in the life of the Reschio estate. From family traditions and candlelit processions to gospel concerts and jazz evenings inspired by the Roaring Twenties, Christmas and New Year have become cherished celebrations, deeply rooted in the estate's identity.
From 23 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, Reschio invites hotel guests and private home residents to enjoy two distinct festive experiences, bringing them together for celebrations that have become part of the estate's history.
Christmas at Reschio, A Tradition That Lives On
At Reschio, Christmas is celebrated in keeping with Italian traditions, with family, music and shared moments at the heart of the festivities.
The celebrations begin on 23 December in the welcoming atmosphere of the Palm Court, with a piano-accompanied aperitivo, followed by dinner at Ristorante Alle Scuderie.
24 December brings one of Reschio's most distinctive traditions. Following a woodland picnic around a wood fire, guests gather at dusk at the Teatro Equestre for a candlelit procession to the castle.
Accompanied by musicians, they follow the estate's paths before arriving in the illuminated castle courtyard. The celebrations continue in the Bolza family's chapel with a sung Christmas Mass, followed by a gathering around the fire and dinner.
On 25 December, music remains at the heart of the celebrations with a gospel concert performed by the Arthur Gremillion & Friend Community Choir, followed by a traditional Christmas lunch at Ristorante Alle Scuderie.
Three days that reflect Reschio's deep attachment to its traditions, family history and distinctive approach to hospitality.
The New Year Jazz Festival, An Iconic Celebration
A few days later, Reschio takes on a different atmosphere as another cherished estate tradition returns: the New Year Jazz Festival, one of the most anticipated events in its annual calendar.
From 29 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, this year's edition, entitled The Great New Year Tap Spectacle, draws inspiration from the 1920s to the 1940s, combining vintage glamour, jazz and spectacular tap-dancing performances.
On 30 December, the Stable Fair brings the spirit of a bygone era to life. Boutiques, beauty salons, perfumeries, fortune-telling sessions, culinary specialities and live music create a lively festive atmosphere. At the Teatro Equestre, the estate's Spanish horses also take centre stage for a dressage performance.
As evening falls, the celebrations continue with dinner and an elegant casino night at the Tabaccaia di Reschio, where blackjack, poker, cocktails and live performances recreate the atmosphere of glamorous evenings from another era.
A Spectacular New Year's Eve
On 31 December, the festive spirit continues throughout the estate. The day features the lively Stable Fair, a traditional flag-throwing performance and a symbolic bonfire inviting guests to leave behind the habits of the past year.
In the evening, New Year's Eve celebrations begin with a festive dinner, artistic performances and a live concert by The Daisy's Big Band, before the night continues on the dance floor with a DJ set.
On 1 January, the festivities come to a gentle close with a New Year's brunch accompanied by live jazz at Ristorante Alle Scuderie.
